Camphill Farm

Good milk comes from happy cows

  • Visitors of all ages leaning over a farm fence to stroke and hand-feed two Jersey cows on the Camphill pasture.
  • A dark newborn calf lying in long grass while the rest of the herd grazes around it.
  • Jersey cows grazing in an open Camphill pasture full of white spring flowers, with farm buildings among the trees behind them.

Our herd of 90 cows is milked twice daily and spends most of its time grazing naturally on pasture. Their milk is processed on site into our much-loved dairy products, including our famous yoghurt and award-winning cheeses.

Organic garden

Organic Garden

  • Long beds of young leeks growing in dark soil, with a hand-written row marker and the farm's tunnel greenhouse in the background.
  • Two Camphill gardeners bent over a row of seedlings with buckets beside them, planting out the next crop on a bright morning.

Our gardens are at the heart of village life, growing herbs for our workshops and fresh vegetables for our homes, our local community and selected retailers.

Alien clearing

Our Alien Clearing team works beyond the village, removing invasive species like wattle and Port Jackson in partnership with neighbouring farms and CapeNature. It is meaningful work that restores the environment and creates purpose.

The clearing team feeding cut branches into an orange wood chipper, with a growing mound of green chips beside them.

The cleared wood returns to the village, where it is processed into firewood and sold, turning environmental care into practical, sustainable use.

More about Camphill Village
  • Five members of the Camphill alien clearing team standing together in waist-high fynbos with loppers in hand, cleared veld stretching behind them.
  • Camphill workers feeding logs through a hydraulic log splitter beside head-high stacks of split firewood under an open shed.
  • Four men in ear defenders working around a sawhorse, one cutting a log to length with a chainsaw in the late afternoon light.
  • Two large piles in the wood yard: whole logs waiting to be cut on one side, split firewood ready for sale on the other.

Camphill Village invites the general public to join us for a lovely day out in the country at our monthly market. Our surroundings are relaxing and peaceful with beautiful gardens and shady trees around the market area, where visiting stallholders and Camphill residents set up their food and craft stalls.
